Woman: And now four boys who’ve made it to the top without a casting show, and the success isn’t getting any less in the last few months.
Guy: Yes, we mean Tokio Hotel. They cause a lot of teenage-hysterics everywhere, with exception of their tour bus. There the guys can have a quiet time, without any girls.
Woman: Or at least so they say.

Reporter: This is how it sounds outside… and this is inside. Once more just to compare. Whene everywhere else is rock ‘n roll, in the buss it’s always quiet; a strict rule of Tokio Hotel. their night liner is about 30 square metres used by four people; a pretty narrow tour-life, but Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg have made it themselves as comfortable as possible.
Tom: This is just the toilet.
Reporter: Oh, that’s very important!
Tom: Yes, but I think it’s peeing only!
Bill: the rest you have to do at a filling station…
Tom: Sometimes Georg forgets…
Let’s go a bit further…
Bill: I sleep in here.
Tom: Bill sleeps here…
Georg: I sleep here, above on the other side.
Tom: There sleeps Bill. Here sleeps the chef; that’s me. That’s the best one.
Reporter: Where are the groupies sleeping them?
Tom: Depends, it’s big enough in here.
Georg: We have some baggage compartment down here…
Tom: It’s a bit bigger here, here we’ve got playstation and a small TV, and that’s all there is in the buss.
Bill: That was all the luxury!
Georg: yeah, extremely…

Reporter: What’s notable; at stage Tokio Hotel lets their guitars rock and make the fans scream with teenage rock. But in the bus it looks more like “mummy’s little darling” than like “hell’s angel”.
Tom: We’ve just got in, so there isn’t much to see yet, but after three days – we’re going to travel for three days in this thing – I think it’s really for some serious cleaning…
Georg: Indeed
Reporter: So sex, drugs and Tokio Hotel after all. Today they have a concert in Hamburg, with fifteen degrees (Celcius) and rain. But the two thousand fans don’t care, most won’t even wear waterproof clothes, they want to get Tokio Hotel’s attention with narrow shirts.
Tom: It isn’t really cold, I’m glad about that, but I still find it pretty incredible; I wouldn’t be walking around in a skirt when it’d be raining like this. Well, not at all actually…
Georg: But otherwise he’d love to…
Reporter: Without a skirt, but with much to large pants Tom stands on the stage a short time after that. And with such an image, the cold and wet, young groupies will soon get warm again. A performance that has been great for everyone in spite of the bad weather.

Bill: Today was extremely good.
Tom: Today it struck me that all the banners were new, I’d never read those sayings before. There was “Tom, spank me with your dreadlocks” and “Put away the guitars and play with me”. I must say they were pretty creative today.

Gülcan: guys, when i realised that it’s about the best bands of the world today, i took some of the posters off the walls at home and i brought along the best of them, the one of Tokio Hotel as you can see. they stand there looking all sexy into the camera and letting their eyes speak. that’s what a lot of girls think and they do make good music, too. i really like them. Klaas, do you like them too?

Klaas: mhm...

Gülcan: do you also have their cd’s?

Klaas: mmh...

Gülcan: do you also go to their concerts sometimes?

Klaas: mhm...

Gülcan: really?! do you have a mug with their picture on it?

Klaas: mhm...

Gülcan: boah, you’re really cool man... but not only Klaas is cool, Tokio Hotel are cool too and they’ve been in our show quite a few times. here is the best of!

Gustav: it’s exciting. i like it when there are people who scream for you... that’s cool.

Bill: this is the love nest of Sarah and Marc... their cozy corner. i think Tom wanted to help Marc out a little bit...

Tom: i heard help is needed...

Bill: yeah, help is needed.

Bill: everyone gets dancing girls, Stefan Raab has dancing girls too... everyone but us! i think we should have dancing girls too.

Tom: rehearsing is so boring. there’s just nothing special about it.

Bill: yeah, you have to wait all the time...

Tom: rehearsing sucks.

Bill: the fact that the singer usually stands in the front and the others could feel disadvantaged doesn’t prove to be true for us. Gustav is rather quiet. he likes to seclude himself and he’s glad to be behind the drums and that he doesn’t have to go up front. Tom is a real poser with his guitar. so he backs me up on stage. and Georg is the typical bassist, a little reserved, also quiet. and that’s who we are, and i think everyone’s happy the way it is.

Tom: Bill is the most mysterious one of us. he likes to seclude himself. and when he doesn’t feel like taking part in what we do, he just walks off.

Klaas: this is Tokio Hotel!... wait, let me take a picture of you.

Klaas: everything went so fast. i think not even as a viewer you could really understand what was going on and you guys probably even less. it happened overnight. how did that feel?

Bill: i think because it happened so quickly, you can’t really tell. it came as a big surprise for us. i think a lot of guys our age dream of seeing their video on Viva...

Klaas (to Tom): you said in an interview “women, great... doesn’t matter if they’re stupid”... i read that today. tell me, what’s this all about?

Tom: well, i’m the type of guy who makes decisions by gut feeling, so i don’t pay attention to a certain IQ or something like that. i mean, why would i? people who do too much thinking are not that much fun.

Georg: there’s this saying...

Tom: yeah. (laughs)

Bill: shut up.

Klaas: excuse me? say it again with the mic.

Georg: well, there’s a saying...

Klaas: yeah, there’s this saying...um... right. you know it. *lol* (must be something bad, i don’t know which saying they mean)

Gülcan: i’ll ask you questions and we’ll see if your answers are the same.

Bill: red means correct and blue means wrong?

Gülcan: yeah, red means “i am”... for example funky, and blue means “i’m quiet”.

Bill: ok.

Gülcan: let’s get started. first question: are you romantic?

(Bill quickly says yes.)

Tom: uh...

Gülcan: are you? then show... (Tom shows the blue side)... you’re not?

Tom: no.

Gülcan: ok.

Bill: what did he show?

Gülcan: well, that’s a perfect match... i mean no match.

(Bill turns around to look at Tom’s thumb.)

Gülcan: no looking!

Bill shrugs: oh well...

Gülcan: next question: have you ever written a love letter? to a girl?

(Bill again is quick with his answer. what the hell is Tom thinking about? ;o)

Gülcan: you both have. ok, that’s a match. can you cook? cause that’s important.

(Bill quickly says no.)

Tom: we know how to cook sauce.

Bill: yeah, that’s true.

Gülcan: it’s a very important question. girls dig that. don’t we, girls? (girls agree)

Bill (to Tom): come on, tell the truth.

Tom: can we cook?

Bill: no.

Gülcan: ok guys, say no... alright, it’s a match. oh, important question: are you faithful?

(now he’s quick. ;o)

Gülcan: both yes, that’s great.

Johanna: well, not only the girls in here but also the girls out there have a lot of questions for you. here are some of them.

girl 1: hi Bill, i wanted to ask if you believe that the girl of your dreams could be among the audience at your concerts.

girl 2: i love you so much.

guy: hi Bill, i was wondering if you’re also into guys. *lol*

Johanna: ok, we’ve heard some questions now and one of them was particularly interesting. spit it out!

Bill: which one? the last one, of course. well, certainly not. i used to have a lot of friends who were gay, but me, not at all.

Johanna: have the fans ever done things that made you say “that’s going too far”?

Bill: well, there was this girl who slept at the bus station next to our house. that was heavy and i felt sorry too, cause we’re hardly ever at home. to meet us there would really be a coincidence. and the girl actually slept there, it was really cold and she was almost frozen to death when they found her the next morning, so that’s really heavy.

Klaas: a lot of girls who stand in the front row faint, a hundred of them at autograph sessions... and you see that. what do you think?

Bill: well, we don’t usually see that, cause we’re focused all the time and... well ok, you can see the first row, but you don’t see what’s behind them. sometimes there’s light and then we get to see them all, but we don’t see who’s fainting and who’s not. i gotta say though, we have a very caring team who makes sure everyone’s fine. they give out water, they’ve also started giving out hot soup for those outside, cause they stand there for hours...

Klaas: it’s incredible. like in a refugee camp with blankets and soup...

Bill: right, they also give out blankets...

Tokio Hotel - Bericht bei Blitz auf Sat 1 über Sc... - MyVideo

translation by THT channel

woman: they are Germany’s pop sensation, concerning their look, music and now also concerning school: the guys from Tokio Hotel. one minute they get cheered by hundreds of fans at the video shooting, the next they have to go to school. well, that’s not quite true, cause twin brothers Bill and Tom want to graduate by internet school. how does that work? we talked to them about it.

presenter: these guys drive the girls crazy and not only in their latest video “Der letzte Tag”. even though it’s boiling hot at the video shooting the fans don’t stop cheering. and the boys think it’s great.

Bill: we got there and we were already soaked with sweat and we thought like, “damn, how are we gonna get through the whole shooting day?!”. the fans, i have no idea how they managed, they did very well though. we were glad they were so tireless.

presenter: but even the best screaming has to come to an end at some point. right after the video shooting the rock band has to go back to normal, they have to study. not at a school though, like other guys their age do, but by internet. twin brothers Bill and Tom do their homework at an internet school.

Bill: school still sucks of course and it doesn’t get any better like this, but you can organize things. we don’t have to get up at 8.00 a.m. and go to school, we can organize it. they send us the stuff and we send it back.

presenter: Gustav and Georg have already graduated. Bill and Tom have to work and study at “internet school”.

Bill: well, it’s exactly the same in our band. we (Tom and him) have to work and they get to... (they laugh) no, Tom and i, we do that when we’re at home, so they (Gustav and Georg) hardly even know about it.

presenter: but since it’s the summer holidays right now the guys don’t waste any time thinking about studying. stress-free chilling like last year on the Maldives, that’s what they feel like doing.

Bill: i’m the “little-islands-and-white-beaches” type of guy. and... well, we’ll see.

Georg: discover something new...

Tom: yeah.

Bill: something... well, no, i’m not really a discoverer when i’m on vacation. (they laugh)

Georg: well, i mean a new little island you can walk across within 15 minutes...

Bill: yeah, seriously, i need an island that i can check out in 10 minutes, so i can chill in the hammock for the rest of the day.

Tom: although Bill normally likes hiking... (joking)

Georg: and sightseeing... (joking as well)

Bill: yeah...

Tom: and museums... (still joking ;o)

Georg: going on a bus ride...

presenter: it goes without saying that they go on vacations together.

Bill: we’re not only band colleagues. we’ve been really good friends for 6 years now and we spend just as much time together as before. we used to hang out pretty much every day.

presenter: they didn’t tell us where they’re going for their next vacation. better for them probably. otherwise it would look the way it did at the video shooting on their vacation.
