Pocher: now, a band who's already through it all, cause they've been number one in germany for weeks with their single, the album is number two and i think after their performance tonight it could go number one. i'd like to present Tokio Hotel the way the record company originally did (reads the text): "their songs arouse. everything we've heard so far seems to be a blurry thing of the past. their music causes a tremor and it just happens: you can't evade the power and the striking charisma of this band. nowadays that a lot of young bands, trying to say something, use meaningless phrases, Tokio Hotel present their own unique sound. intelligent, moving lyrics, energetic, modern rock music and a great charisma. their songs are amongst the most exciting german-speaking productions of these days, next to Jeanette Biedermann. (he added that. some people don't like her and say she's not a serious singer, so he didn't mean that, that's why everyone laughs) it's about time to introduce Tokio Hotel to a bigger audience." ladies and gentlemen... Tokio Hotel!

Pocher: nice to have you here. currently there's no teen magazine without you on the cover. what is this like?

Tom & Georg: it's pathetic.

Pocher: why?

Tom: it's evidence of incapacity. (i have no idea why he says that)

Pocher: well, it's either you or US5.

Bill: exactly.

Pocher: you know that song, Maria... (sings it *lol*)

Tom: awesome rock song i say.

Pocher: kick-ass!

Georg: you're doing it quite well.

Pocher: finally a band that hasn't been casted.

Tokio Hotel "agree"

Pocher: do you like them?

Bill kind of says yes. (i don't know if he meant that or if he didn't dare to say no)

Pocher: feel free to say they're crap.

Tom: we don't really like casted bands.

Pocher: ok, let's talk about nu pagadi. they were casted and bang, nine months later they didn't exist anymore. how long have YOU been together? 4, 5 years?

all: 5 years.

Pocher: so you were only just... (to Georg) you're the only one who's of legal age, you're 18, right? you two are 16 and (to Gustav) you're 17?

Gustav: correct.

Pocher: the newspapers give you nicknames, for example: Gustav, the smart thinker, Tom, the crazy freak, Bill, the cool rebel, who secretly had the band's logo tattooed on his neck when he was 14. that's pretty clever to do that "secretly" on the neck (being sarcastic of course)... and Georg is the quiet checker.

Tom: yeah, but they mixed up mine and Georg's. actually, i'm the quiet checker.

Pocher: you're also the one who's said to have had sex with 25 women, right?

Tom: you're really fast, i must say. (it had only just been in the newspaper)

Pocher: well, i always read the "Bild-Zeitung" in the morning and i was like "oops, the young man...25...knick knack." but it's not true, is it?

Tom: huh?

Pocher: or don't you wanna talk about it?

Tom: well, i'm open. but i have to be honest, i'm really surprised cause you're the first person who talks to me about this.

Pocher: really? but that's what it said in the newspaper. i see, are you telling me that the "Bild-Zeitung" doesn't always tell the truth?

Tom: YOU said that. i have to say i didn't count so i can't really tell. it could be more than that or less. i don't know.

Pocher: oooh...! i see. 25 and you didn't count. oh well, one stops counting at some point, right? but don't count every time (sex) as a new woman, alright?

Tom: of course not.

Pocher: well, when i put away the "Bild-Zeitung" i watched "RTL Punkt 12" (newscast), that's the film version of the "Bild-Zeitung", and there you used that cool expression "Drinnis" and "Draussis". what exactly is that again? you're "Drinnis", right?

Bill: yeah, we're "Drinnis". well, we hate the countryside and villages even though we actually live there. untouched nature in germany, for example, is totally not our thing. like camping and stuff...

Tom: yeah, don't you know that feeling of damp clothes...

Pocher (interrupts Tom): well, i...

Tom: what?

Pocher: no need telling me that, i've never been to Dubai with a tent. ;o) no, seriously, i don't like it either. so, you're always just indoors?

Bill: no, not necessarily. but mainly just in cities and not on the countryside.

Pocher: untouched nature, crap.

Bill & Tom: yeah.

Tom: well, there are nice pretty islands, too, but...

Pocher: but crap, to hell with them...

Bill & Tom: yeah... no! not the islands! but the forests and stuff...

Pocher: tsunami... i mean, sorry, but they're gone now...

well, great... it's going rather well, you're number one, and you will now play live here for us. you're the first band that performs live in this show. and i personally am a very tough rocker and...

Tom: yeah, i can tell... (points at Pocher's pants)

Georg: cut your pants open behind the stage...

Tom: yeah, you put on your rock pants today... crazy crazy...

Pocher: well, that happened when i begged Pro 7 on my knees to give me my own show. i will perform with you now, but not as myself... i think Marc Terenzi is someone who's a true rocker...

Bill: that's true. it's nice to be on stage with such people. he's influenced the rock music business for years. so he's a serious artist...

Pocher: yeah, sure. i'd love to make this possible for you. this way Tokio Hotel and Marc Terenzi would be performing together in a moment...

Bill & Tom: that would be cool.

Pocher: yeah, and you'll see what that looks like after the commercials. Marc Terenzi feat. Tokio Hotel, here in Rent a Pocher. stay tuned!

Bill: [sings 'Jung und nicht mehr jugendfrei'] “… and we have to pass, we’re young but not G-rated anymore. I’m sorry I know we shouldn’t but we start living now”… etc
Guy on couch: Have you ever had a gig for more than five people?
Bill/Gustav: Just five isn’t very much is it? [Tom laughs]
Guy: So you’ve had more?
Bill: Yes, mostly ten or twelve…
Guy: Okay.

Bill: Sleep well in your room all three together; don’t worry about me being alone…

Tom: I’ll fill the refrigerator now… "have you got 'rot' (=red in German)?"
[notice: the boys love to drink flavored milk! they simply mix regular milk with flavored powder. and they love the RED (=rot) POWDER, which TASTES LIKE STRAWBERRY (the yellow one is banana flavor LOL)]
Woman: Yes, we have.
Tom: I’m gonna take this.

Guy: How long are you together now?
Tom/Georg: Since two… two and a half years.
Guy: That’s quite long
Tom: Yeah, that’s how long the four of us are together and Bill and me have been making music together even before that. The two of us, and we also performed, and at a gig they kind of mediated themselves to us [laughs].

Georg: And then we met and it got really fun and it worked out well. In the beginning the age-difference was a bit weird though…
Tom: We don’t really notice, you’re a bit retarded you know…
Georg: Yeah, indeed

Tom: I have listened to new-[something] for a while, but now I only listen to Hip-hop actually.

Guy on the couch: You brought out a single now, and what’s it called?
Tom: … Uhm… “It’s my life”?
[All laugh]
Guy: Really?
Tom: No!
Bill: [Laughing] “It’s my life…”

Guy on couch: What are your fans like, like you?
Bill: Yes, our fans are cool…
Guy: Your fans are cool.
Bill: Exactly, they’re always standing first row and rock along whatever happens, and they’re certainly very important. Otherwise bands wouldn’t exist, they are the ones that keep the bands going and the ones who buy the CD’s so more music is made, and that’s important too.

Bill: It’s always different. Now they play the music first and I somehow finish it with the text, but mostly I first write the text and sing the melody and then we try to fit in the music.

Bill: [sings] … and then she sends me a star back, which says; “drop by if you want to”.

Guy: Did you have fun today?
Bill: Yes, it was cool.
Guy: What have you sung today?
Bill: We’ve recorded Rette Mich, that’s a ballad and then we’ve made “Schönes Mädchen aus dem all” with the band.
Guy: Just now?
Bill: Yes, we just played it.
Guy: And were the people inspired by what you sung?
Bill: Yes, incredibly [Laughs]

Guy: Do you all have different tasks in the band. Does everyone do something when you’re going somewhere?
Tom: Of course mine are the most important
Bill: Yes
Tom: Well, no, Bill always has to help
Bill: But I don’t…
Guy: Even though you don’t have that much equipment, they need you
Bill: Hmhm
Georg: Well, we always have to carry his PA box.
Tom: But we all do that. Everybody helps carrying the guitars and the drums en stuff

Bill: Well, just… stay loyal…
Others: yes…
Tom: And you’re great!
Bill: Come to our performances and let us rock.

28.09.05 Taff (Eine Freundin für TH) (with Translation)

Female reporter: This four boys from Magdeburg have – just in the last four days – received the sensational amount of 55000 letters. Just imagine that. We calculated a bit and when you assume that a normal letter weights 20 grams, it is a ton of mail all together!

Male reporter: And we tried to figure out for you, why these four boys from Magdeburg started such a hype.

R: Tokio Hotel; number one on chards, number one at the Comet, number one for thousands of female fans. The four boys from Magdeburg inspire the young audience like almost no one before. Now this band has started – together with the Bravo – an appeal; We search for a girlfriend for Tokio Hotel, resulting in 55000 love letters.

T: We hadn’t count on this much, we had hoped for some girls to choose from, but it ‘s incredible that it’s become so much.

R: With 55000 young, single women Tokio Hotel certainly has a wide choice. For 100 fans will Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav give an exclusive private-concert. The most important factor the choice is based on is the photo.

B: Is this one naked?

Ge: Yes… yes.

[Bill laughs]

T: What did they do?

Ge: They’re naked on it…

T: Yes, cool!

B: No wait, this one’s all right actually.

Gu: Yes, she is.

Ge: Invite her.

B: Yes, I’ll invite her… I’ll invite her.

R: The joy before the concert is big. After the concert, every band member will choose his dream woman and with her he will go on a very private date. That isn’t such an easy task, with one hundred potentials, but the four young rockers are inventive.

B: We even could make a little contest at the night itself [laughs]
Ge: A wet-shirt election…

B: With … (sorry, didn’t understand that) and so…

[Everybody laughs]

Ge: Good idea!

B: We’ll see, we’ll come up with something.

R: the four boys from Tokio Hotel are between sixteen and eighteen years old. Nevertheless, they know all about women, at least, so they say. About Bill’s sexlife are many wild rumours and also his twin brother Tom already talks like a professional about his coming date.

T: I don’t think you should do something very special, I think you should just sit together or go somewhere or something and then just get to know each other. Just normal.

R: Tokio Hotel are just as cool as real rock stars. But sometimes they also show their soft side. For example when they found the panties of a female fan between all the letters.

In a couple days the great private concert for the one hundred beauties they choose by hand will take place. And then the four musicians will finally reap the fruits of their hard choosing-work.

B: Certainly, that will be definitely fun.

T: I’m really looking forward to it.

Guy: Why is this different?

B: It will be only female audience, and it’s the first audience we’ve chosen ourselves.

Ge: And then there’s the great after-show party!

B: Exactly.

R: And if Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav won’t find the right one between those one hundred girls? No need to worry; there are still 54900 more candidates in line.

Head-on through the wall - right now, that's not a problem at all for the boys of TH. The album "Schrei" is finally out, the concerts are full, the newcomer band around singer Bill is turning on the heat.
*Bill singing "Jung und nicht mehr jugendfrei"*
And the girls are standing in line. A success that could provide explicit possibilities concerning female fans, couldn't it?
Gu: Up to the room, something like that - not with me. That's not really my thing.
Ge: It's not like it's that crass [with Tom and me] ....
Tom [inaudible]
...and there's no need for that [being crass]: Some girls really inflict themselves, and especially the two Kaulitz brothers Tom and Bill are positively being hunted. And that apparently also has its nice sides:

Tom: We basically try to savor it to the full, because not many people have the chance to do what we can do right now... and so I think we just savor it, and try to have as much fun as possible.

As such, the mobile phone is very important. Every available second is used for chatting - concerts, appointments and maybe also a little flirt.

Bill: That can always happen. As Tom already said: He's not averse to that... in the end, it doesn't matter whether it's a fan or some other aquaintance.

The message is clear: So far, none of the four have comitted themselves. But many can get their hopes up: Although the hotel room is taboo - there certainly are other discreet places for a very private fan meeting.

Leb die Sekunde Interview (with Translation)

Translation:

1st question: Isn’t it funny to know that posters of you are on the walls of girls bedrooms, and that they even kiss them?
Katrin 14

T: Dear Katrin
[Georg laughs]
T: [Laughs too] Well erm, we think it’s cool; never we could have imagined that we could be on a poster in a magazine and we think its good that people like you, for example, hang them on the wall, we think that’s great. And when you kiss them we feel honoured.
B: Tom also kisses his own posters; he puts all of them up on the wall…
T: Mine? Yes, well, only mine. But there are so much of them (I don’t get the last part, sorry)

2nd question: Can you imagine still making music together at sixty, like the Rolling Stones?
Moni 17

Ge: With them? Well… I’m not very sure.
B: At sixty?
T: At sixty? When we are sixty or after sixty years?

When you are sixty

T: When we’re sixty.
Ge: That isn’t such a big difference in your case [laughs]
T: I think all of us will be making music for a long time. Maybe we are a completely unsuccessful band when we’re sixty and we’re still making music together. Or – all of us alone will definitely keep making music. Of course you can never know or we will stay together forever, but I can definitely imagine, personally.
B: So do I. Of course you can’t be sure that you’ll stay together forever; there can always happen something that causes a split-up, but I’m sure we’ll keep making music for a long time.

3rd question: What do you do in your free time, except making music?
Sophie 16

Ge: Well, pony riding (He’s kidding)
Gu: You let the ponies ride you.
T: [Laughs] Georg lets ponies ride him… Erm, well, we mainly use or free time for music; we use every spare time we can find for the music, like practising together and –
B: I think that, when we do other things, it isn’t so different from the things other people of our age do. We meet friend, go somewhere, everything very ordinary; very boring actually.

4th question: Don’t you miss your old life?
Mara 16

[Bill and tom quarrelling about the microphone]
T: Well, our life hasn’t changed that much, except for the fact that we’re known now and can play our music fro many people. And further we’re just at home, hang around with friends, as Bill said, we go to parties. Well, we can go to better parties now.
Ge: Well, sometimes there are very bad parties.
T: There are also awful parties.
B: But further it hasn’t changed very drastically, and I don’t want to go back, because I want to stick to this. You can see the things we did when we just started, and when we would want to go back to that I think we would want to just stop doing all of this. But I don’t think this will come soon, I believe we all will keep doing this for a very long time.

5th question: Will you do an even bigger tour next year?
Mareike 14

B: Well, we’re really satisfied with how the tour is now, it’s really doing well; the tickets were sold very quickly.
T: That’s supi (super, but a stupid way to say it)
B: That’s supi
[All laugh]
The halls were really big – we even played once or twice in –
T: No, she means if we’re going to play more concerts.
B: No, she means if the halls are going to get bigger.

More appointments (= performances/concerts/festivals)

B: Oh, more appointments. Well, we definitely go on with the tour; we won’t only tour next year, but also perform at festivals and so on, so it won’t be only concerts, but it will certainly be much more than what we did this year

6th question: When someone would offer you a million Euros provided that you wouldn’t perform anymore, what would you do?
Svenja 22

T: I think we would all play live nevertheless, because when you exist as a band for a long time you can make even more money.
B: No, but… when we wouldn’t get on a stage even again, we would have to miss that feeling, that’s just…
B: I wouldn’t know what to do else.
Gu: This is our life.
Ge: Maybe pony riding
Gu: Or let ponies ride us.

7th question: Do you chat? (On the Internet)
Jasmin 13

Ge: Erm, yes…
T: Well, we are – yes? Do we chat?
Ge: Yes, then we hide us under the pseudonym “Gaylover” in the erotic-chatbox [Laughs]
Gu: I chat in club 81 (?)
T: [Laughs] Well, no erm, I am not – and I think we all aren’t Internet freaks. But I think that is really cool, my best friend for example – well, our best friend (to Bill) – is really and Internet freak. I think it’s cool when people know all about it, but I don’t. But we all have a computer, because we often have to read our e-mails.
Gu: In my case it’s a laptop, Tom.
T: But I think none of us really goes to chat boxes.

8th question: Do you think it’s hard now to find your “real love” and to know if something is meant serious?
Janina 15

Ge: This is a Bill-question.
B: Well erm, I think it’s certainly harder than it used to be, because of course you can’t be sure if the girl would have spoken to you in normal life. It depends on what you want. When you say: “Right, now we want to find a permanent girlfriend, our great Love” or something, then you could really succeed. But it can happen of course, especially in our situation, that we maybe… well, take a bit advantage of it and then it could happen that the girl really didn’t meant it and just liked us because we were in the newspaper or something.
T: But otherwise, Georg and me are really looking for our great love –
Ge: We’re searching every day.
T: And who searches finds. [Laughs]

9th question: Do you already have plans for a new album, or are you even working on it already?
Patrick 12

T: Well, you don’t really just take a seat and write songs, we never plan that. I don’t think we would get somewhere if we did that, I think those things just arise when we’re travelling. We’re very much alone every day (not sure), and then ideas for songs arise and the ideas for texts of Bill –
B: You always let yourself be inspired I think. When we would have to write songs for the second album, and we would just go to the studio then I wouldn’t know anything to write quickly anyway. That has to come with the time, and because we’re travelling so much and can experience so much we also get the opportunity to get ideas from all that. So we always have to write on. We shouldn’t think that now the first album is done we can wait till a couple of weeks before the second has to come and then start writing; it should be a process that’s always going on.
T: But we already have some material for the second album.

10th question: Do you read your fan mail?
Lena 13

B: We really try to read as many as possible, but that’s really hard; we’re at home very rarely. Many fans are disappointed very quickly, when –
Video-cut
T: Contact with fans is important to us, I really try to keep in touch with fans, also in different ways.
Ge: In his hotel-room.
T: Yes, well, we also keep it in hotel-rooms… That’s also a good variant. [Laughs]

11th question: Do you think it’s funny to see yourself in magazines or on television?
Bianca 12

Ge: Well, I never get to see myself on TV.
T: We’re always somewhere else.
Ge: Exactly. And radio I really think is strange.
T: Yes, but I think that’s always like that; when you record something with your sell phone it’s always funny and different to hear your own voice, but –
B: When I record my singing in the studio it always seems okay while recording.

B: Shall we tell the hotel-story? It’s a bit painful story.
Ge: No, it’s a good story.
B: Well, I’m not going to tell it.
Ge: Okay. Gustav was in his hotel-room, and he looks out of the window and sees – exactly at the opposite of our room.
T: At the same floor.
[All laugh]
No, well, we saw – Gustav had discovered them and made us notice it –
Gu: You, Tom! That was you! You were the one getting on the balcony to get a better look!
B: Yes, it was!
T: Well, okay… It started pretty innocent. There was a man standing in front of the washbasin.
Ge: Beautiful sight, really
T/B/Gu: No!
T: Well, he was standing in front of the washbasin and he was even still wearing his underwear.
Ge: His cotton underwear.
T: Yes, his cotton underwear.
B: First we thought he was washing himself, because he was standing directly in front of the washbasin.
T: Yes, but then I notice the legs around him and then I thought; oh, that’s what happening, now it’s getting started. And after the washbasin they lay down and after that they even did it standing up.
Ge: They really tried everything.
T: Yes, they really tried every position.
B: The cool thing was, at first they were standing in the middle of the room, and the bed was standing almost against the window. And we were thinking; oh great, when they get into the bed now, so we can see it really good from behind and everything…
So we were standing there thinking, “please get onto the bed!” And then they got onto it and really did every position; they haven’t omitted a single one. I think is took almost two hours.
Ge: We were almost frozen to dead on that damned balcony…
B: We were standing on that damned pavement and of course we were almost frozen, but we couldn’t look away from that picture.
T: But they caught us! Why did they caught us, I can’t remember…
Gu: Because I phoned him.
T: Oh, yes exactly! Gustav was the first one that dared to phone him. We figured out the room-number and then just phoned, but the guy didn’t let him be disturbed and just continued with what he was doing. And we thought, “He isn’t disturbed, maybe it’s the wrong number”, but then he got out of bed and picked up the phone, but Gustav of course had hanged up out of fear. And the guy was totally [Tom looks around]; we really confused him; it went down immediately (Just look at his hand). Then he hangs up the phone immediately, looks out of the window and sees everybody standing against the window like this. And his lights were on, and he immediately started to scream and turned the lights of and closed the curtains. he was totally freaked out.
B: The next morning we’re going to have breakfast and think “Ey, when we would see them again now…” We come in; they’re sitting directly at the first table and we had to sit next to them because the seats were already arranged. That was extremely painful; they’ve recognised us of course…
Ge: We considered sliding a ten-euro billet underneath the door, so they would continue, but…
T: Well, that morning we were totally embarrassed and it was definitely really painful.
Ge: I think it was more painful for them.
T: Yes, it was more painful for them then it was us. For us it was really funny.

To some grown-ups, their style is a criminal offense against good taste. But there's no denying that these four boys are teenie-idols. For weeks, TH from Magdeburg have been on top of the charts. The logical result: Performances, interviews and photo sessions like this one for the teenie magazine Bravo. And what it also brings: Fan letters by the ton.

Tom: I haven't been home for a while now, but every day there are, like... well, at our home, there arrive about 50 every day.

Especially Bill (16), and his twin brother Tom are subject to devotion on German school yards. Apart from make-up tips, many female fans dream of an affair with the boys - and they definitely can imagine that.

(Tom: ... Or white ones?)
Bill: That can always happen. As Tom already said: He's not averse to that... in the end, it doesn't matter whether it's a fan or some other aquaintance.

For his styling Bill needs about 15 minutes in the bathroom and one bottle of hairspray a week. No problem for a teenie star, but one for a pupil. Again and again there was trouble with the teachers because of his look.

Bill: Bad grades, dumb remarks... basically, you're treated totally different as other students. And that's something I can't have at all, because that doesn't have anything to do with the person as such, or the knowledge or whatever.

Following the succes of TH, their teachers' nagging has subsided a bit. And so, Bill, Tom and the other boys definitely want to stay in school. Let's see whether they still think like that after the next number one hit.

translation by dypnf/tha!

Bill: I'm Bill and the singer of the band.
Tom: Hi, I'm Tom and play the guitar.
Gustav: I'm Gustav and play the drums.
Georg: I'm Georg and I play the bass. And all together we are Tokio Hotel.

Bill: We live in a village, a really small village. We live right across from a field. The village itself is already small but we live even outside from that. There are 3 houses a big hill and across from that a field. And we live in one of the 3 houses.

Tom: You can't say that we are totally against nature. It's nice to sit in a bus and see all this but you don't have to clamber up in it.

Bill: Of course we also have other hobbies. For example: I really love to design clothes and Tom likes to make graffiti. But mostly it's all about t music.
Tom: For Bill and me it always was clear that we will make music. We started pretty early and since then it was the only thing we wanted to do.

Bill: We thought about it together. A name which symbolizes all the time what we can experience right now. Ja, experience is the right word for it. We experience a lot right now. None of us really knows Tokyo and we think that you can experience a lot there and Hotel because we're on the road a lot now and foremost does the name sound cool. It really fits to our band.

German/English lyrics
Album in general

Bill: We always made German-speaking songs because I already started to write songs before we even had English at school. I always wrote them in German because it wasn't possible to do different then. Every once in a while we tried English songs and I think all bands do this, but all in all we always made German music.

Bill: The lyrics are pretty thoughtful. For sure you should take your time when you listen to the album. But there are also party songs which are not so deep. It's really mixed. There is a lot of different influence on that album since everyone of us listens to different music.

1. Single/Shooting of the video

Bill: The first single is "DDM". It fits really well to the band. It's a little mysterious. It's about to dare to go to another world for someone you find again. And we experience a lot at the moment, too and we are in a new world. And that's why we think the song fits so well as first single.

Bill: The video shoot of our first video was at a lake near Berlin. We did the shoot at two locations. Everything was outside, one at a cornfield and one at a lake. It was pretty wet and a lot of leaves......
Georg:....several animals....
Bill:You've to understand that we are all "Drinnis" We separate always by "Drinnis" and "Draussis". The "Drinnis" are inside most of the time and we love the city. Actually we are always in the city....
Tom:...Coffee Bars...
Bill: Ja, at Coffee Bars. It was really hard for us to stand in the middle of a field because that's something usually "Draussis" do. Camping is not working for us at all, we are always inside. There always has to be something human nearby. Means, when we're in the meadow there has to be a tarred street coming after latest 3 miles. Something human so that you don't feel lost.
Tom: Best is to avoid unoccupied nature.
Bill: Ja, and it was pretty unoccupied where we did the shoot. We've had a lot of trouble because of that. We had many discussions because we would have prefered it to make the video in the city but it is an outside song and I think I wrote it a little "draussig" but it fits the song.

Tom: The basic idea for the video was that the sky is permanent existing out of ocean and water and everything pushes from above which fits really well to a monsoon. And the thing is that this were all "Draussis" locations. All of us classify the people in "Drinnis" and "Draussis" and we belong to the "Drinni" fraction and the you have the "Draussis" like our producer was because she chose the location which on the other hand fit well. But it did cost us quite an afford. We had to stand in the rain and lumber through the water with bloodsucker and in the wood were bugs and ticks and what else is jumping around there.
Bill: Birds who poop on us...
Tom: Ja, the birds pooped on us and these are things which are more for the "Draussis". Actually that doesn't work for us at all but it fit really wel for the video.

Tom: No. Actually the video shoot was really wicked, though it was cold and wet. What was striking about the shoot? Mmmhh.. actually nothing shocked me except that I saw Georgs naked butt sometimes because he was not wearing any underwear underneath....

Live

Georg: Live is the best there is. To present your songs to others and see that they like it. That's just about the limit.
Tom: "Schrei" is my favorite performance live. It's the one which sounds live the best and the one where you can rock best.

General/Future

Bill: Our album is coming out at the end of the year. We will play everything, also as support act. And we will perform a lot. And the we will do our own concerts. We are looking forward to it. The main thing is that a lot of people are coming.

Bill: Of course our biggest dream is to play in Tokyo at one time. That's something we all wish for.
Georg: We try to turn our hobby into our job and I think that's a dream everyone has because it is rare that you have fun with what you do for a living.

10.09.05 Top of the pops (with translation)

Translation:

R (Reporter): Hallo and welcome by Top of the Pops. We have today extremely much women in the studio and we have today a national and
international female artist. And with so much oestrogen in the studio I of course need some male backup!
And I have found them. Two strong men, two smart youths; Bill and Tom from Tokio Hotel. Great that you could come here!
T: Yes.
B: Yes we're glad we came too, really a cool topic today!
R: Really good, isn't it?
B: Definitely.
R: Yes, really great. We'll start with a woman who will go on tour with the Backstreet Boys in October; a really beautiful woman from
Denmark, very talented, a beautiful voice.
Her new single is called 'Gods Gift', her name is Kate Hall. Here is RTL, here is the number one, here is...
All: Top of the Pops!!!
R: Kate Hall by Top of the Pops! Give her a big applause!
The first one of very much stars today. She is something special, isn't she?
T: Yes definitely, you could certainly say that.
R: Then a question about girls: What should a girl have if she wants to be your girlfriend?
B: I don't think that it it's always the same, but Tom and me are always liking the same girl
R: Have you never had a row about that? (Not sure about that)
T: No never, we always let the girl decide.
B: Exactly
R: Okay then. Peace, peace at Top of the Pops.
R: I have read that you get at least 300 love letters each day from your fans.
B: Yes, that can happen.
R: What do they write to you then?
T: It's mostly different, but a lot just want to be with us or just keep in touch via letters. I personally think that it is really
good when there are photos with the letters, because then you at least know to whom you're writing.
R: yes, certainly if it is a beautiful girl, eh?
T: (laughs) Exactly
R: And do you answer them all?
B: No, we can't answer them all, we'd really want to answer them all but we don't always succeed.
R: You should do that, that's really important!
T: Yes! It is really important
B: We try our best.
R: And here are some ladies who might have got some love letters too. Here are some of the most successful women artists this year!

R: Ladies night at Top of the Pops and tonight everything is about strong women in the pop world! We also have a very young artist tonight!
B: That's right; Rihanna! She is a new discovery from Hip-hop star Jay Z!
T: Exactly! And after the prosinging (?) we'll talk trough it again! (Not sure, again)
R: With good reason! A very talented young-lady! Her is Pon de Replay, Rihanna!
R: Rihanna, this week at number six with Pon the Replay. Do you find her good, this Rihanna?
T: Yeah...very good I must say!
R: And she really looks good too!
T: Oh indeed.
R: Boys, I think we’re having the same idea; we had so many women at the stage, we can endure one man performing.
B: Yes, I agree with that, and this is exactly the right one I think.
R: And you?
T: Yes, me too. And I think that every cool woman needs someone to connect with, don't you think? (Again not sure)
R: Which is romantic.
T: Which is romantic.
R: There speaks the expert. And so is he; this week on number five.... James Blunt; you're beautiful.
R: Boys, what about your tour?
B: Well, we sure want to do one but it hasn't been planned exactly yet, but I think at the beginning of the next year.
R: In the holydays?
B: Yes.
R: Yes, I was wondering; how do you do all this with school?
T: Well, during the holydays, in the weekends and in the afternoon, after school.
R: And then you take your homework with you?
B: Well... more while travelling (Laughs) (I think he means the school bus)
R: Good luck with that! And that was the fist news directly from the boys from Tokio Hotel, and the further changes in the pop world
you'll see right now!
R: Here at Top of the Pops. Our next guests; there a woman indicates the tone too...
B: Adel Tawil
R: And what's the name of the woman in the background?
T: Annette Humpe!
R: Right! And the name of the song?
B: Dienen.
R: And the name of the band?
T: ... Erm...
R: Ich und Ich!
T: Yes, Ich und Ich!
R: Exactly! Here are on number seven Ich und Ich and Dienen!
R: Your success came very fast. Your single came out of nothing on number one in the chards. That is of course overwhelming.
How does that feel?
T: Erm...Definitely a complete new experience, it is really amazing and we couldn't believe it. And we must try to get music and
school balanced. Now that goes very good because the school has just begun but I think it will get very difficult later on.
R: Was has changed for you?
B: Well, we now only have time for music and school, which is good, because we've always used all our free time to make music and
now we can do that professional. We're travelling a lot, we play for many people and that is incredibly fun.
R: And do your parents support you?
T: Yes
B: Definitely.
R: Like always. That is very very important isn't it? To have some background?
T: Yes of course, definitely.
R: Okay. Now we have at Top of the Pops a top 20. Have fun!

05.09.05 RTL 2 News (with Translation) X (a)

Translation

lady presenter: Tokio Hotel are creaming off the profits this year. yesterday, the four boys from Magdeburg got gold for their first single “Durch den Monsun” and the album “Schrei”. and now they go round again with the single of the same name. in that song the teenagers mightily show off: in the video of the song Tokio Hotel have a wild orgy.

presenter: they’re only between 16 and 18, but in the video they already act like big rockstars: a wild party, orgies in the bathroom, demolished instruments... when asked about a certain text line, Bill and Tom get rather childish though.

interviewer: another line that caught my eye was “und dann hab ich meinem Bruder die Freundin ausgespannt” (“and then i stole my brother’s girlfriend”)...

Tom: that’s a lie!

Bill (at the same time): that really happened.

Tom: a lie!

Bill: no, it’s not. well, Tom had this girl whom he had his first real kiss with...

Tom interrupts Bill: but that’s not stealing a girlfriend...

Bill: and the next day i had her and kissed her...

Tom: yeah, but only because i kinda gave her to him...

Bill: of course he doesn’t wanna admit it, he was totally in love...

Tom: i said, “ok, Bill, so that you can finally kiss as well, you can have mine”.

presenter: well, it seems they’re not that wild after all. being good and well-behaved they accepted their gold records and they admitted that they’re sometimes pretty scared of their upcoming tour.

Gustav: well, sometimes i’m a little worried, for example, yesterday, when we were at the “6-Tage”-race, there were so many fans and when you drive past them closely, they beat against the pane and that worries me a little...

presenter: so the way to being real rockstars still needs improvement, the four guys are really “to scream for”.
